As many of you know, I'm taking a Hadley School course so that I can become a Nemeth transcriber. However, I'm also interested in regular print transcription and nonmathmatical braille transcription as well. Do any of you work in nonmedical print transcription? If so, for which company and how have they treated you with regards to your blindness or visual impairement? Do they make things accessible? What kind of software do you use? What's the pay like? For those of you in nonmathmatical braille transcription, did you need to take any special courses? Do you have to use particular formatting for your assignments? Do you use a braille printer and software like Duxbury? Do you work for a company or as a freelancer? If the latter, how much do you charge per page? Would it be beneficial for me to post on places like Craigslist looking for work in either field? For those in Nemeth transcription, how does it work? Do you just type the problems into the computer and print them out or do you have to set up certain things manually? Thanks.
